English – About Jabez Verden

Jabez Verden is a Norwegian humanitarian organization which was founded in 2018 by a Norwegian Congolese family, who are the descendants of Pastor Samuel Namugunga from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Jabez Verden is run without benefit and all work is done voluntarily to provide school education to children who are in a humanitarian crisis in the village of Nyangezi near the city of Bukavu in DR Congo.

Samuel Namugunga is a community builder in the city of Bukavu, he founded the primary school College Namugunga, which provides school education to about 1,000 students in the poor village of Nyangezi. War and conflict in DR Congo is the reason why several millions of children have lost the opportunity for schooling.

The family of Namugunga resides in Norway, we collect money and school equipment for College Namugunga – that’s how Jabez Verden finances school education for poor and orphaned children who are victims of the war in DR Congo.

Among other things, we help give the students school equipment such as school uniform, school bags, school books, notebooks, school PC, radio for teaching as well as pencil cases and writing material so that all students can have equal opportunities to learn as much as possible when they participate in the teaching.

We believe education can be the key to improving the future of not only these children but also their future generations. Education can be their way out of a heavy and poor lifestyle. We want all our students to have the necessary school equipment and school life so that everyone can complete the primary school with good writing, reading and arithmetic skills from College Namugunga.

Through all this we mean in Jabez Verden that our work can contribute to education for the coming generation of children and young people creating better local communities and a better DR Congo, as well as a better world.
